Core Blimey, a creative was commissioned by ITV to create the opening sequence for all England men's football matches. However, the agency decided to take a different approach to the usual football-focused opening sequences.
Instead, we wanted to create a sequence that celebrated the country itself, including its diverse cultures, nature, and architecture. The sequence would serve as a tribute to England and the pride associated with the country, rather than just the players.
The result was a visually stunning and emotive opening sequence that featured various locations around England.The sequence was accompanied by a powerful soundtrack, which quickly became a fan favorite.
The sequence has become an iconic part of English football culture, with fans eagerly anticipating its appearance before every England match. It has been credited with instilling a sense of national pride in viewers and setting the tone for the game to come.
